Two girls ripping it on a classic pop song. There aren’t really more words than that.
Much love to Powerfox and Ponymane (Jackie Tohn & Jes Hudak) on their cover of “I Will Always Love You”

Jes Hudak’s currently on national television proving why she deserves to be a big time singer songwriter. She is currently one of the top 8 finalists on “Platinum Hit”, a BRAVO reality television program where aspiring singers and songwriters compete for an opportunity to win a publishing deal and recording contract. Unlike some of the other finalists on that show however, Hudak has been proving for a while that she is already there - her EP National Holiday, released in 2010, is just the most perfect little package of sugary piano pop that anyone can ask for from a budding new artist. The EP is full of charm without sounding even a little bit precocious, and Hudak’s voice rivals some of her best contemporaries - she’s airy and fresh, and her music is perfect for any summertime activity. For my collection of new artists and songs you need to listen to and download, I encourage you to listen to the title track, “National Holiday”, which may as well have been the theme song to the cutest hipster love-story movie ever. If you love Hudak (as I suspect you will when you listen to her music here) you should scan Youtube for her other music personality - she performs as part of the pop duo Powerfox and Ponymane with Jackie Tohn, another artist you’ll see on this list soon). Also, tune in to Platinum Hit Mondays at 10pm on BRAVO to catch her in action week in and out!
Jes Hudak’s solo work and performances from Platinum Hit are available to download on iTunes.
